How Do Windows Cause Damage?

Modern, high efficiency Low-E windows are much more reflective than non-Low-E types due to the special coating that is applied to the surface of the glass designed to reflect solar energy.
Cause #2:
Most double pane, Low-E windows are concave due to the vacuum between the inner & outer panes. This airspace under vacuum causes the two pieces of glass to bow inward slightly. This curvature on the exterior pane, causes a magnified reflection, creating a hotspot.
